Through everything we do, our primary goal is to be there to support Guernsey families that have opened their hearts and homes to a child in care. Through our events, we aim to offer a welcoming, understanding place where you can simply enjoy yourself, and meet others to discuss their experiences and your own.
With an something planned at least once a month, you can attend Association events whenever suits you. You are automatically a member when you foster or adopt, and are under no obligations.
We hold Christmas and Easter craft afternoons, visits to family-orientated businesses such as Iris & Dora or Oatey & Joey's, and even enjoy trips across to Herm and Lihou Island.
For privacy reasons, these events are not listed here. You can find out where and when via the mailing list or private Facebook Group
The association also considers requests for help and financial support towards appropriately connected causes. This can include funding training courses for parents, access to support and learning resources, and training events.
We also consider requests to assist with specialist and alternate therapies that some children may require, to assist with understanding and handling trauma.
Guernsey is a wonderfully diverse, inclusive and understanding community, and the ideal environment to raise a family.
The Association is fortunate enough to include many diverse families in many forms, all of whom offer loving, supportive and safe homes for children that have come to them through adoption or as foster placements.
